In honor of my father, the joker and jolly one, I present to you our real, funny conversations when he was still alive. Life was tough for us but it’s not always bad because my father tried to make us laugh with his remarks and made up stories about aswang and Rere Laput Laput *LOL*

I also want to share the story I sent to FAB gift shop as my entry to their Father’s Day contest:
Getting so busy making ends meet as parents can make us forget that we also need to take care of our family members. I witnessed how my father tried his very best to provide for us while making sure quality time with his family is never compromised.
After going home from driving his jeepney for half a day, he would look after my daughter and cook dinner for us. On weekends, my sister and I would wake up with our favorite songs on because Dad played our CD. Remember when F4 fever hit the Philippines? He bought us F4 posters and stickers. That’s how thoughtful my old man was. He helped my mother with household chores by ironing clothes and school uniform. On Christmas Day, our tiny house would be filled by his side of the family. Despite his low income as a jeepney driver, he still managed to save money for our relatives so he could give them aguinaldo.
Dad was the favorite pamangkin of his uncles and aunts, the favorite tito of my cousins. A lot of people, most of them we did not personally know, were present during his wake. They have their own stories about dad’s kindness and generosity. If I would be given a chance to be with him for just one more day, I’d tell him how much I love and miss him and that I am proud to be his daughter. I was born in a poor family but his love for us made us feel blessed and rich.
Happy Father’s Day in heaven, Daddy.
Happy Father’s Day to all Dads out there!
Sending Salute to All Dads in the World,
